biography

I was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England and moved to London to study Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art, whilst supporting myself with work in the world of haute couture fashion. After completing my BA (Hons) I worked for various theatre, opera and dance companies in England and then returned to Wimbledon School of Art to study for an M.A.

For 4 years I was Associate Lecturer on the Performing Arts Course at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, whilst continuing to work freelance as a theatre designer. In 1996 I moved to Italy where I now live and work.

Having developed skills in the techniques of mask making for Commedia dell’Arte whilst teaching I began to explore the limitless possibilities of sculpting with leather.
